Wondering what to do in NH in the winter time? NH offers a wide variety of fun winter activities including skiing, snowboarding, snow tubing and snowmobiling.

Do you like to ski but prefer smaller ski resorts? Two good options in the local area are Pats Peak and McIntyre Ski Area.   Pats Peak is located in Henniker, NH and offers 11 lifts with a range of beginner, intermediate, advanced and expert ski trails.  Friday through Sunday their snow tubing area is open for some sledding fun.  Ticket prices, hours and other information can be found at patspeak.com.  McIntyre Ski Area is located at 50 Chalet Ct in Manchester, NH and has 9 trails plus the Thrill Hill Tubing Area.  Please visit www.mcintyreskiarea.com for more details.

If you like ice skating, you may want to try the Tri-Town Ice Arena in Hooksett, JFK Ice Rink in Manchester or Conway Arena in Nashua.  Most of them offer skating lessons and have designated times for public skating. 

Have you ever been to the Ice Castles in Lincoln, NH?  These giant glowing castles are truly amazing and include slides, thrones, archways, tunnels, sculptures, lights and music.  Currently the Ice Castles are scheduled to open on January 5th, 2018.  You can find more information regarding tickets and pricing at icecastles.com.  Remember, dress warmly, wear your boots and have fun!

If you are interested in a dog sledding family adventure, you may want to check out the Muddy Paw Sled Dog Kennel in Jefferson, NH or Valley Snow Dogs which has 2 NH locations including Benton’s Sugar Shack in Thorton and  Waterville Valley.
